Bengals sign Trae Waynes

Waynes was 19th on nfltraderumors top 100 free agents, and was rated by them as the 3rd best free agent CB.
The training, nutrition, medicine, fitness, playbooks and rules evolve. The athlete does not.

Well there's Dennards' replacement.

Well, holy shite.   Mike must be taking a very long nap.

Chris Harris Jr next?
Today I'm TEAM SEWELL. Tomorrow TEAM PITTS. Maybe TEAM CHASE. I can't decide, and glad I don't have to.

Like this move because he’s younger than guys like Chris Harris and Logan Ryan. Same with Reader he plays a different position than Wolf but he’s younger and better.

Bring in Kennard or McGovern and I am happy. Both would be very nice. Rock On

Forgive my ignorance, but is Wyanes a boundary corner or slot guy?

Makes me feel great that we're giving a guy Zimmer gave up on a decent amount of change.

Dennard is gone, so we might be out for another CB.

Waynes was about the same as DK in coverage. Better in run defense though.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

Interesting. I wonder why there's such a wide distance on his rating?

(14th among CB alone)

https://www.pff.com/nfl/free-agency
(46th overall)

EDIT:

Dennard to the Jags, so replacing Dennard with Waynes seems like a zero sum move, not a move to make the Bengals actually better.
