Could be similar to Dennard last year. Didn't find the market he was hoping for and is taking a 1 year deal in hopes of finding that money next year.

I'm thrilled with this signing.

I have a good friend who has been a lifelong Vikings fan.  He is pissed.

This stood out to me on all the defensive signings...Tackling.  It seems to be an area of serious upgrade focus.  Good, because we sure sucked at it before.

True, but if they had done a better job last offseason, they probably could have finished it by this offseason  Wink
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

But then we might not be getting Joe Burrow...

The lack of Linebackers is the only thing that has me a bit on edge.

XSF is no better than John Miller. He's a stopgap who would be a backup if there were someone better on the roster.
Hopefully they find competition for XSF in Rds 2-4. As you said, the draft looks deep with IOL, but you still have to select a good one.
I really hope Jordan can blossom into the guy at LG the Bengals think he can, but that's a lot of gambling when you have no proven studs on your OL to help compensate.

I would like to personally thank Mike Zimmer for coaching up our future stud corners.

Disagree, according to PFF he is better than Miller. Plus, it took him a bit to grow into his body. Lots of Cowboy fans were
sad to see him go and the way he just B slapped Fletcher Cox to the ground like that makes me understand why. Still need
much more help on the O-line but XSF is a decent start.

With all due respect, that might well be the stupidest movie anybody ever made.

As a pass blocker, yes, but only for 2019.
As a run blocker, definitely not.

2016-2018, John Miller actually had better pass blocking (and run blocking) grades than XSF did.

There were a lot of stupid movies in the 80's I liked. I was a kid.

True, but XSF hadn't grown into his body yet. I think we got him right when he is coming into his own.

Tell me that B slapping Fletcher Cox to the ground like that didn't impress you...

Just makes me want Dennard even more. You can never have too many corners in today’s passing league.

Why do you keep saying this?
The guy is 29 years old and has been in the league since 2014.
I highly doubt he still is "growing into his body."

And no, the slapping Cox to the ground doesn't impress me. That's like saying Jerome Simpson is gonna be great because of his flip over the defender and landing in the end zone.

Dennard is on the Jags.

Just heard he didn't have a good training facility in college and it took till the last year or so to really start showing his strength.

Sometimes it takes O-lineman a little time to grow into good players, some are projects, do you disagree?

When coming right out of college being under 25, I agree it can take a couple years to grow into your body.
However, the dude has been in the league 5 years and is 29 years old. He's had plenty of time in an NFL weight room and program to bulk up and mature.
So for him specifically, I don't think he's likely to grow well beyond where he already is.

Fair enough, I just don't think he made his jump in play last year for no reason.

Understandable.

Alexander doesn't quite have he physicality of Dennard, but he has some more speed so we should hopefully see a decrease in long pass completions out of the slot. I have a feeling that many of us are going to be clamoring to re-sign Alexander next year.
