Word is he expressed frustration with the staff, and he removed the Bengals from his Instagram bio.
Everything in this post is my fault.

Evidently he and Carlos have made another "statement" by removing Bengals from their twitter profile somehow. I'm not on twitter, so I don't know the specifics

The Bengals need to find out if he's worth keeping around for the last 1-2 years of his contract.
I believe the plan was to work him in and make sure he can handle more snaps without reinjuring it. If that's not good enough for him, then make him play 100% of the snaps and if his shoulder blows out screw him and cut him. I'm done with these whinebags.

I get that. And the way for him to do that is increase his plays steadily, while showing that he is effective while doing that. Has anyone seen an effective Geno on any play this year? He's listening to Dunlap too much. Put him in for 100% or plays. Sink or swim Geno.

What, are you bugging the locker room?
Maybe Dunlap is listening to Geno too much. Maybe Geno is his own man, with his own issues, and isn't listening to anyone. Maybe being frustrated isn't the same as being a diva. Maybe all of this is blown completely out of proportion.
We don't know anything other than a few reports/rumors. I don't think we can speculate on Geno's motivations.

So don't speculate. He said he wants more snaps.... so give them to him. All of them. If his shoulder doesn't hold, then that's on him.

How do you know this?
It was a shoulder injury. There is no reason he could not have kept his cardio fitness at a top level while out with a shoulder injury.
So how do you know he isn't ready to play 60%-70% of the snaps?
Just because ZAC TAYLOR says he isn't?

Why should he play every snap when he has never played every snap before?
That would be an extremely stupid thing to do? Why are you suggesting it?
How dare a former Pro Bowl player question a head coach with three wins in 22 games, right?

No, smart guy. There are medical staff and trainers. The smart move is to let him play 20-25%, evaluate, move him to 30-35%, evaluate, etc. Instead of just giving him the full load at the beginning then finding out when you lose him for the season he was not ready. I don't know why easing an injured player back into the lineup is only a bad thing when the Bengals do it.

With a shoulder injury he is either ready to play or he isn't. If he is at risk of re-injuring the shoulder then he should not be playing at all because he could just as easily re-injure it playing 20 snaps as 50.

Yes.
Wanting to play makes them "whinebags".

OK, let me ask you this. How many snaps in the last 2 games have you seen Geno make a difference on?

Basically, he needs to maintain 0.5 sacks per game average. He was higher than that average in 2015-2018 but he did not average that last year.
He's set to be paid $14.8 mill in 2021 and $16 mill in 2022.
He’s not seeing that even if he finishes with the product you suggest

No, mad at them over their social media whinings. If they want to play, great, play better. It really is that simple.

He has only played a total of 37 snaps. Without breaking down the film I have no idea how many plays he has made a difference on, but it is hard to make much of an impact in just 37 snaps. The best DT in the league, Aaron Donald, is only getting 1 sack every 45 snaps (7.5 in 339)

Better than who?
How many big impact plays has Covington made? 217 snaps, 0 sacks, 0 TFL, 0 QB hits, 14 tkls

Let me help you out.... zero stats. No sacks, no pressures, no tackles, no tackles for loss, blanks across the board. He really looks ready for more snaps.

A couple things
1.) It made sense to play Hubbard and Lawson over Dunlap. Here is the thing though Hubbard wasn't playing.
2.) Having Geno on a snap count makes sense it does.
3.) Here is the thing that really erks me though. You are playing against the number 1 offensive line in the nfl in pass production, up 21, and you are playing the run Defensive Line? How does that make any sense? Also why were there so many 3 man rushes? None of it makes any sense.
