Three winners and three losers

Perine. Had a few nice runs to spell Gio, and scored a TD.

Spain. Dude came in off the street and made an immediate difference. Opened up a nice hole on the Gio TD.

Brandon Wilson. ST were great all day, but his big return was a huge play to take momentum right back from Tennessee.

Honorable mention to Bell. His best game as a Bengal by far.

Down:

AJ. 2 catches for 19 yds. It looked he was getting ready to break out after a couple nice games in a row, but those are pedestrian numbers for any WR, let alone a “#1.” I know some people thought Joe under threw the one deep ball a bit, but that’s still a catch AJ used to make in his sleep.

ADG. Not very impressed with him so far. There was one play where Tannehill ran for a 1st and ADG looked slow as shit trying to chase him down.

WJ3. Brutal game all around for him. Got burned, missed tackles, and generally just didn’t look good.

Dishonorable mention to Lou Anarumo. His defense is still pretty awful overall. Titans were gashing us on the ground (and not just Henry), and they allowed 13 4th quarter points. Luckily our offense didn’t do their typical disappearing act in the second half.

He under threw him by a lot. That ball should have been at least ten yards further downfield and nobody makes a catch around the defender in their sleep. That being said, I don’t disagree on the whole. And he looked really unhappy most of the game.

Lou - going into Sunday there was a distinct possibility he'd be unemployed today. Instead the D kept the Titans to 20 points (a more impressive achievement than scoring 31 on the Titan's D) and his job is likely now safe until at least the end of the season
Time of Possession was Bengals 36 mins to Titans 24 mins. That was more due to the offense sustaining drives. I'd say Lou got lucky and the Bengals offense is part of the reason the Titans D didn't score more (not to mention the wind and the missed field goal).

Edit: Speaking of the wind, Randy had a good day with 4 PAs and a field goal. That's 7 points in tough conditions. I'm still not sold on him being clutch but he made a good contribution to the win yesterday.

I'm super disturbed that this team could be up by three possessions and I'm still biting my nails.

Lou's gotta go.
Everything in this post is my fault.

Jessie Bates.  Said it was his first game ball.  That INT was incredible.  I think that is exactly the kind of play the Bengals needed early to give them a spark.  The guy just keeps making plays.

Vonn Bell.  I know whatever PFF ranking he ends up with today will not say he is playing at a Pro Bowl level or whatever, but he was really good in coverage, run defense, and that hit on Tannehill was almost a TD going the other way.  I think as he becomes more and more comfortable in the defense, he will continue to ascend.

Auden Tate.
Partially because of his 7 receptions on 7 target day, but also for what ZT commented on after the game on how he just shows up to work with a smile on his face and works his ass off everyday to try and get better to help his team.  We need more guys like this and I love that he was rewarded.

Honorable Mentions:  Gio, Higgins, Joe Fricking Burrow, The offensive line, Margus Hunt, Amani Bledsoe, Logan Wilson

Losers:

Lou's three-score lead defense:  I have never seen a team score a TD in a hurry up offense with three rushes and one pass.  Insanely bad.  Need to stay aggressive here.  Going in to that massive headwind, there was no way they were going to beat you over the top.

AJ Green.  Looked like he was in the wrong place a number of times.  Didn't fight through handsy coverage.  Didn't generate separation.  I am not afraid to catch the wrath of those that still worship the ground that Green walks on, but Tate should be starting over Green.  He is simply more reliable.

Cethan Carter:  Might be a decent special teams guy and got that one yard reception (was still bobbled a bit) for a key first down, but why is he out in a pattern over Sample?  Was Sample injured?  I saw him blocking well.

Honorable mentions:  Josh Bynes (looks like cold molasses.  Wonder if it shouldn't be Pratt, Wilson, and ADG in base after the bye?).  Sims (way too much cushion).  WJIII, abused most of the day.  Coming off concussion gets a bit of a pass, at least he was out there.
I think ADG is unfortunately still on the wrong end of the learning curve.

We have to remember he's a 4th round pick.

I beleive he'll improve as the season goes, next year he'll be the force he was at App St...

ADG is playing a new position and is only playing a limited role as a third down specialist.  Hopefully we see more playing time for him along with Wilson.

Jessie Bates left the Bengals and that makes me sad!

ADG has done nothing to impress me. BPt Shawn Williams there. He's just as big as ADG and twice as athletic.

Most of the lists are pretty good:

Up:

Auden Tate - caught everything thrown to him

Spain - Basically came in off the street and gave us the best play at LG we have had since 2018

Price - Good game except for one wild snap - adding in Cleveland this is two good outing in a row

Adeniji - Same as Price. Has looked good since he stepped in.

Bell - Arguably got robbed on a couple of calls but still beasting anyway

Down:

Lou - Defense still can't close it out like it should, and his weird personnel sets are stopping the front 7 from developing any kind of identity.

Pratt and ADG - Poor tackling on big run plays

WJIII - Poor coverage technique; he should know better.

According to the commercial, you should have called your doctor about 20 hours ago.

Nah... Just light a match, blow it out, and put it on it immediately thereafter.

Winners : The O-line, namely Price, Spain and Adeniji. All looked great IMO.

Gio, 2 TD's protecting Burrow, as Burrow said most important player on Offense. Might of paid the wrong RB. Never thought I
would say this. Gio looks great out there and is the perfect RB for the NFL today with the way he can pick up the blitz and help
the QB in the passing game.

Auden Tate. Dude looked very good and made an insane catch.

On D I go with the Safeties in Vonn Bell and Bates. Wilson is a stud for us at LB bro, stud.

Also winners are the coaches for once. Zac, Turner did very well and even Lou held that O to 20 with his D.

Losers : Sims as always, the pass rush and AJ. Geno actually hit the QB so he might be coming around. AJ just isn't worth
what he is being paid and these young WR's are studs. Tate just took Ross's lunch, look for a trade soon if we can get anything.

Usually I’d suggest going to the hospital, but with the pandemic you might just have to watch Golden Girls or something.

Agree on all points.

I was under the impression that ADG was the undersized speedy linebacker we needed to cover and make tackles in the open field.  he's not been that thus far.  I was more excited about him than Wilson.  Disappointing.

WJ3 is a mystery he looks great until he doesn't.  Better figure out if he can get it done consistently soon.  He's going to want a huge deal.

Lou is just bad.  He's worse than Marvin ever was when it comes to the run and hide defense.  He has a poor sense for calling a game and timing.  I hope the Bengals win a lot more games.  I also hope that doing so does not save his job.

Yeah, ADG almost felt like we specifically drafted him in response to Lamar. But if he can’t even catch Ryan Tannehill...

ADG is just a raw rookie. He has shown he can cover at times and be fast and make plays on ST's then he gets burnt cause he
just isn't ready. Still, Bynes has been by far the most disappointing LB on this team in my eyes. He had the one INT where the
Titans snapper screwed up but anyone should of got that one in his position.

Bynes just takes bad angles and is always in the wrong position unlike Pratt and Wilson. No excuse being a vet in the NFL while
these young guys already get it more than you do. Really thought the Bynes pick up would be a good one but I think I was wrong.
