Joe Burrow Injury Update
(11-24-2020, 11:48 AM)Hoofhearted Wrote: This YT video: https://youtu.be/cAVWR5aYpf4

Just watched it and it sounds lot better than that tweet I seen last night. Makes me feel a lot better! Thank you for the positive vibes :)

See, positive vibes work we need positive energy among fans to help Joe Burrow's recovery.

Joe will be back ahead of schedule because he will follow all scheduled rehabilitation exercises and do more.  Honestly I'm afraid he'll overdo it some.

He plays amazingly well for having two knee repairs.

Good point.  Doom and gloom, everywhere.

Keep in mind injuries to the knee have different grades of tears. they won't know the extent of injury until the swelling goes down in a scope the need to see what's necessary for surgery.

From when I'm hearing Joe is in good spirits he's joking with everyone. He's either in denial or he knows he's going to be back. He tweeted after the injury that he will be back.

Let us hope the Bengals record reflects a higher than expected draft choice for next year they select that stud from Oregon fix some things along the Oline, fire at least some of the coaching staff and let's move on and kick Pittsburgh Steelers ass next year.

just listened to Dehner and Morrison’s HTPG podcast on the drive home and felt way better. They interviewed real doctors affiliated with professional sports organizations. 9 months on average plays it safe to get you cleared for contact, as the graph can heal within 6 months. The 12 month factor is entirely dependent on range of motion, strength, and psychological measurable benchmarks during rehab.

MCL tear, being an interior ligament, does not complicate the injury or timeline for return AT ALL and is common in 30-40% of these types of injuries. Initial diagnosis is similar to Carson’s injury. Wentz injury was ACL and LCL which does complicate timeline for return

The things that can complicate successful rehab and return to being the same career trajectory are cartilage and meniscus tears, which they may not know the full extent of until surgery happens

None of the doctors interviewed had any concerns about return in 2021 to the same mobility and athleticism, and knowing Joe’s mindset, any psychological barriers

Here's the timeline, apparently there's damage to
the PCL too...

Which is completely irrelevant

1. We knew this already
2. It heals quicker than the MCL and ACL
3. It doesn't delay the surgery, healing or long-term recovery time

He’ll play again in 2022 and it’ll be the same OL as of today and he’ll get hurt again

There’s another guy that deserves much better than the terrible franchise he’s been saddled with.

Yet another reason to hate the John Ross pick. While watching the 2017 draft and hoping some promising players at positions of need would fall into our lap. Guys like TE OJ Howard, DE/DT Jonathan Allen snd several others were sliding down the board. I thought man it’s going to happen, then I hear rumors that the Bengals Nostradamus has leaked, I mean made his guess. John Ross, I thought wtf, then it’s our pick. Yesss Allen and other solid picks still on the board.....The Cincinnati Bengals select John Ross, yes John freakin Ross just happened one selection after Christian McCaffrey and just before Patrick Mahomes. So naturally the guy that rolls up on Burrows Leg is Jonathan Allen. Every stupid decision this franchise makes seems to always find it’s way back to bite this team in the ass. Of course who’s to say this would have still happened. Sorry for the rant, I know this is not an update, just really pissed at this FO for not taking the OL serious when it was obvious to everyone that it was a joke.

Godspeed Joe!

Apparently, he's a beast:

Quote:"Today I saw him in there and he seems high-spirited," Uzomah said. "He was asking a bunch of questions about like, 'hey, can I do this? Hey can I do this? If I try to flex this right now, is that OK?' And the trainer Nick (Cosgray) was like 'yes, does that not hurt?' And he (Burrow) was like 'no, it feels a lot better already today.' And I was doing the rest of my rehab and finishing up and Nick came to help me out and he was like 'that guy's a beast. That's insane. His pain tolerance has to be ridiculous for that.'"

Correct. Burrow is in a completely different situation than I was, but just to provide some further information on PCL injuries. I tore my PCL in high-school and the doctor recommended not having surgery and simply rehabbing it. By making my legs stronger, the rest of my leg would be able to support my knee just fine.

It has worked without any issue. I have played in numerous flag football leagues, basketball leagues, ran 5ks and a half-marathon with no issues. Now, all of this seems silly when comparing to an NFL player but I just wanted to point out that PCL injuries are relatively minor and don’t necessarily need surgery to repair. Given Burrows situation, I am sure they probably went ahead and just fixed everything

I have absolutely no worries about this kid getting back to 100%

He's already a pocket passer.
