Burrow supports Taylor because Burrow believes in Taylor. This stuff isn't that surprising, and Joe is hardly the only one. Did anyone listen to Mike Daniels' interview with Jim Rome this week? He raved about Zac Taylor, and there have been others too. The players, for better or for worse, largely seem to love the guy.

Because the players see what he's building and know it takes time.
