Checking In on Some Former Bengals

I'm sure he will get a touchdown and people will be ready to pounce and say "see, he is absolute beast when used properly," and pretend he wasn't track guy without confidence who couldn't do anything through two coaching staffs, multiple QBs and spent more time with an orthopedist office than the WR room. In 2 years, he'll probably be as close to being an NFL receiver as I am.

I am done defending the guy because he must be an absolutely awful teammate.  I have never seen an organization give up on such a high pick before.  When Burrow hit him in the hip with a crossing route early last year, it was the last time the guy ever saw the field.  I think he simply didn't put in the work, and he didn't have the right attitude at all.

That being said, I will never understand why he wasn't used more on sweeps and screens instead of just having him run verticals all day.  When ZT came in, he did what Marvin didn't and found ways to get the ball in his hands, but I guess the guy just never learned the offense and had major lapses in concentration.  After the hot start with ZT, they STILL gave up on him.  I can only imagine how poor you have to behave, practice, and execute for that to happen.  They were starving for WR talent in ZTs first year and he still couldn't do anything.  Simply amazing.  And incredibly frustrating.
