No doubt. But if we give Hubbard an extension and not Bates we will never know if the Bengals valued Hubbard more or if Bates just did not trust a long term contract with the Bengals. Hubbard is more of a local boy and would be more likely to take a chance with the Bengals.
Most Bengal contract extensions are announced during pre-season/training camp. Unless we sign some other pretty big free agent it will be a very bad sign if we do not get an extension worked out with either of them.
