No brainer to get them both extended this year. Bates is an asbolute must. They have plenty of cap room (18-21 mil depending on where you look) and that's before any veteran cuts in training camp.
Knowing the Bengals, they'll keep some of this to cover potential injury settlements, bonuses and for rollover. But it still leaves room to get both of these guys new deals (base salary increase won't start until 2022) and to front load a portion of each signing bonus.
Just spitballing, but I'm guessing Bates is looking at something in 13-15 mil range, and Hubbard is looking at the 7-10 mil range.
