Many players take a "year off" and are fine. Taking a year off due to injury should be harder to come back from given the injury then taking a year off to "train" (I hope).
Yet players return from injury all the time and look good in the preseason. CJ for example got nearly a year off to recover from Achilles tear. And he's played and played well. So has Reader and Wayne (until recently injured). Honestly guys we have plenty of players who have shown that this year off excuse isn't the excuse people are making it out to be.
Honestly not sold on the excuse a player who took a year off not recovering from injury needs more time then players who spent the year recovering from significant injury.
