That’s incontrovertibly true! At this point I’ll give Zac Taylor a bit of a break because he has very little head coaching experience in the NFL playing with a lead.
You are right when you say the offense was too conservative late in the game but what made it worse was the defense. They started playing with loose coverage and using prevent defense far too early. I thought they had all been possessed by the spirit of Teryl Austin.
The Vikings came back and tied the game due to this extremely misguided strategy of an overly conservative offense combined with extremely loose defense. This game should never have been that close.
