Baker started playing better last year as the season went on and he had a pretty obvious upward trend. OBJ's lower catch rate is due to his role in being the vertical threat on the offense. He usually runs the corner/go/post route off playaction while Landry plays more underneath.

For never more than 14.0 YPC in 3 years? Also for a pathetically small 2.0 and 2.8 YAC the last two years? That's a pretty poor vertical threat and 50.0% is just an awful completion rate even if you are a team's vertical threat.

Combine that with the huge distraction he (and now his family) are creating and the fact that he's only played 16 games in 2 out of 18 years? Dude's not worth it. Addition by subtraction.
