Are you old enough to remember when Justin Smith was a bum. Or Domata Peko?
Smith was better in SFs 3-4 defense as he and Peko were solid but not spectacular players.
Smith just didn’t get enough sacks/pressures for a guy picked number 4 over all. Expectations are higher but he was a good player not great. Very hard working guy who gave 100% but not athletic enough to be an elite pass rusher. The 49ers scheme for him much better.
