This isn’t absolving ZT or anything but in all fairness, that UC team was just bad. In 2017, after he left, they still went 4-8 and had a horrific offense - only marginally better than when ZT was there.
That isn’t to say that ZT is a good play caller or anything, obviously, but he wasn’t working with much.
