Thankfully I don't have these problems you guys have had.
It is not always hot spicey stuff that triggers stomach acid. For example if I drink coffee with something sugary sweet it will turn to acid in my stomach. Or a whiskey sour. And, of course, acidic stuff like grapefruit juice.
