Sure, Carman has been disappointing. But he IS a rookie. A rookie coming off an injury his final year in college. A rookie coming off an injury learning a new position. A rookie coming off an injury, learning a new position, AND switching from the left to the right.
But there have been flashes of really good play mixed in with the mistakes. I think we had all hoped he'd make RG his. That did not happen. But he mauls guys sporadically.
I was not a fan of the pick at the time (Mike Brown pick). But giving up on him would be ridiculous. He is under contract for cheap. Let's see if he improves. Even as a reserve who can play G & T on a cheap deal, that is not a disaster.
