Our OL got manhandled in the 3rd quarter and our QB had no time to make throws, he had no time (less than 2 seconds in a few cases) to survey the first look and zero time for a second look (option).
You comment says volumes about the sacks to Palmer and Dalton. In the 1st quarter, the Bengals defensive line was in Palmer's face hitting him and sacking him. As the game went on our DL pressure disappeared giving Palmer 3 + seconds to survey the field on most plays. On the other hand, their DL dominated us in quarter 3 and AD could get nothing done, but my blame is on the OL more than Dalton.
Dalton missed some throws so yes he could have done better. But overall, Dalton was a strength against the Cards and fought and clawed the team back in the game with his brain, hs arm and his feet.
