I don't believe any of this scripted nonsense but where there's big money involved, there is often corruption. Also, most referees are sports fans. And humans are flawed creatures.  Did this guy grow up a fan of a particular team? I wonder who his rooting interest is.

It's definitely controlled by the reffs. They don't get paid shit.. You know damn well they would take money to do their best to get a certain outcome..
