That said, not all injuries are season ending. If Burrow missed 5 games and someone like Brissett led us to a 3-2 record, we'd be fine.
If Brandon Allen (or a 7th rounder) is in there, we're probably 0-5 and tanked the season.
I get that we want every penny going towards fixing the line, but I think $3.5 mil on a backup that could keep us a float is a worthy investment, and not all that expensive, tbh.
This is the right view. 3 or so isn't too much to budget and that 5 game span scenario is more than just trying to win a division but possibly just to get in. Gabbert or Flacco could be reasonable, McCoy is my minimum.
