Why deny yourself something you enjoy over something that has nothing to do with the game?
If you let them disrupt your life then they are winning.
I can ignore it for the most part, not so much the last few seasons, but they gave it way to much publicity in seasons past, I always looked at sports on the weekends as an escape from life for a few hours, no politics, or personal views talked about or tossed in your face, just grilling, few beers, smack talking and pulling for your team.
