What do you define as an obvious reach ?  from most projections that i read where we picked Carman could have been perceived as an obvious reach... but at times need overrides BPA .  Pick late in 1st round I feel will lessen the reach since there normally are a good core of picks debated that are late 1st and early 2nd.

A reach to me would be picking a player projected late 2nd/3rd round with our 1st pick
