And won’t the Bengals be in the same “cap hell” the browns will be in, after signing Higgins, chase, JB? It’s about the now. This coming year. Browns will be legit, and a SB contender.
They’ve lost OBJ, Landry and Higgins from their WR’s at the start of last season and that wasn’t a good group to begin with. Cooper is an upgrade over any one individual WR they had but he doesn’t make their WR room better than last years.
Hooper gone, Mack Wilson gone, Tretter gone, they got a better QB and one good WR. It’s really hard to look at their roster (which wasn’t a playoff roster last year) and say they are better. Especially considering Watson likely has a substantial suspension coming and they don’t have first round picks for the foreseeable future. They are far from a guarantee and certainly shouldn’t be favored for the division.
