Apple played well down the stretch and got a new prove it deal, I am fine with him as CB2 if we plan on drafting competition there. All CBs get beat from time to time, the Apple hate is ridiculous to me.
Our defense doesn’t rely on LBs enough for me to go after Wagner. I like him, he’s a helluva player. But we have Wilson and Pratt, and some decent backups for those two already in place. How many years of elite LB play does Wagner have left to sacrifice Pratt or Wilson’s snaps?
Long story short..IOL if its Tretter, CB if its Gilmore with Waynes getting his off-season hunting permit.
Yeah outside of a rough start he had in a couple games early I thought Apple played well. Bengals fans at times expect our corners to never give up touchdowns and he's not a shutdown corner if he was he wouldn't be signing a prove it deal. Also to hate on him for struggling with Kupp isn't fair either he was the best receiver in football last year. All the love Ramsey gets and if Burrow has another sec or two and he's throwing to a wide open Chase where Ramsey fell down.
But I will say something our entire secondary needs to be better at is gettIng turnovers. Not sure if Gilmore is known for being a ballhawk but I'd say thats who I'd like to sign. Opens up our draft even more.
