That's why I don't think it was staged.
Another reason why you can know that it wasn't staged because, if it was, Will wouldn't have been laughing when Chris told the joke.
That would have been the worst acting performance of Will's career if he was supposed to look mad.
Chris Rock could've absolutely annihilated Will Smith. That material was just begging to be written.
