Chris Evans...a bigger role?

Hue Jackson commented that they were surprised how well Burkhead ran routes when they needed him to play WR.  This, despite having the fastest short shuttle time in his entire draft class.  The Pats must have agreed because they found a role for him as a 3rd down/rotational back.  So, no, the coaches don't always know everything.  Marvin stuck with vets WAY too long when they weren't producing and didn't have a competitive environment for their spots.

Evans isn’t seeing the field unless injuries occur. Bottom line

And Burkhead was not better than Hill, Bernard, Boyd, Marvin Jones, Sanu, Green, Eifert, and Gresham.

just like Evans isn’t better than the big 3, Hurst, and Mixon.

Chris Evans is unknown to you, and you’re intrigued by it. The coaches know Chris Evans. The coaches knew Burkhead. If he was as talented as you think, he would have been on the field more than Perine
