In 2021, Evans had 17 carries for 77 yards, a 4.5 YPC average. He also hauled in 15 receptions for 151 yards and two TDs.
Perhaps the play in the Super Bowl, I believe it was in the 4th quarter, Bengals up by 4, 3rd and 2, they threw him the ball and he converted the first down. He also was the Kickoff Return specialist for the playoffs and the Super Bowl.
I think Evans showed the dedication by taking on a role he had only executed once as a KR, was solid on coverage units, and made the most of his opportunities.
This isn't meant to be a dig a Perine, but I think Evans has another piece as a downfield receiver that Perine lacks. Dan Hoard in a recent interview commented how Evans' looks bigger and stronger, especially in his lower half.
I'm very excited to see what Evans can do in a bigger role to help keep Mixon fresh and add another dynamic as a receiver.
No doubt. Expecting Evans to have a much bigger role in his sophomore season. Need to use Mixon and him in different
scenarios where we have both on the field at the same time and use them in the passing game to keep Defenses off guard
and unprepared for an unpredictable Offense where we can also run out of these schemes if Burrow sees something.
