It's funny, though -- it seemed like there was a lot of anti-Dalton sentiment leading into this season, and now it's "there's too much Andy love!"
Here's the thing: what Robert and I tried to capture in different ways is that yes, as a person, he's the same guy he's always been. But -- BUT -- he's not the same quarterback. So ... what is it? And you can't say it doesn't matter because everyone else says it does (like my wife says, you can't tell anyone how to feel) -- and lo and behold the team is 9-2 and he's in the MVP conversation for the first time.
I think the only difference is consistency. Aside from the Texans game, where the entire offense had poopy pants, he has been playing at a Pro Bowl level. The weapons being healthy is what has enabled him to play more consistently.
I don't blame that entire Texans game on Winston, but Watt was just going to which ever side he lined up on and blew him up. Tyler had his share of really bad drops, too, though.
Aside from that game, he has been very consistent, and that is all that was lacking.
