I was traveling yesterday and had my cruise set on 70 MPH in light traffic. As I loathe dumbasses that ride in the left lane (it's actually illegal in Germany) I stay in the right lane. I was coming up on a Semi and told myself, that once I get closer I will pass. After about a mile I realized I wasn't getting any closer, looked down at my speedometer and I was going 55
Agreed. While reducing the trail distance can help, I've found that the only time I really thought adaptive cruise control was useful was when the kiddos were asleep in the back and I was in no rush to get home so I didn't care if it slowed me down.
