#2. Everyone has said nice things about Bates", that isnt wooing him, they generally like the guy this is a bis issue not a personality issue.
#3 "What's he waiting for if it's not for a new, bigger contract?" How do you NOT know that Bengals could not offer Bates a new long term deal after July 15th even if they wanted to do so? Seriously, how can ANY Bengals fan toss out such crazy statements and NOT know that the negotiating period is over and cannot resume until after the season for tagged players? He is avoiding injury, thats it. He will sign the tag soon and be playing.
The Bengals can make new offer in late January, or they can tag him again, or let him walk.
