The QB consistently had a pocket and time to throw and there was some push up front. What made it look so weird was Allen was just WAY off - not just in accuracy but his decision making was terrible. Why is anyone's guess.
I didn't get a chance to watch the first game, but I was heavily disappointed with the OL in Preseason Game 2.
Here are some interesting tidbits from PFF's analysis of the OL in the preseason game 2:
Quote:
- The Bengals’ line ceded 16 pressures on 39 team pass-blocking snaps after giving up 13 on 40 snaps in preseason Week 1.
- Fourth-round rookie Cordell Volson handled significant snaps (40 pass blocking, 21 run blocking). He gave up a sack and two hurries in pass protection.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs
Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.
