Then you look at his college receiving stats.  Over his final 2 seasons at Louisiana Tech he had 225 receptions for 3085 yds and 21 tds.  So he had to be doing something right.

Then you see that not only did he make an NFL roster his rookie season, but only two other rookie WRs (Schuster and Cupp) had more receptions than Taylor's 43.  So, again, he must have been doing something right.

And, finally, his 9.3 career punt return average is top ten among active players (min 50 ret)

I am starting to like the guy a lot.

The 49ers two best receivers that year was an aging Pierre Garçon and Marquise Goodwin. Trent Taylor shouldn’t sniff the field unless it is a blowout.

Also, plenty of guys get drafter with this similar build. I’m not going to go through an exhaustive list, but guys like Julian Edelman (5-10, 198), small program, come to mind.

There is nothing to really “get excited” about here. I’m sure he is a fine football player, but would you take the over on him having 15 catches and/or 200 yards… on the season?
