Will Zac get better? Will he understand he needs a run game to win in the AFC North? Will he rediscover the occasional need to play smashmouth football? The answer to all these questions is yes.
First I know I'm being negative right now. But I'm not so sure the answer to all those questions are yes. We were running the ball well with Mixon when Taylor came in. I thought that the very least the running game blueprint was there for Taylor which is more than some new head coaches get. He still came in trying to throw it 40 plus times with Dalton and took him a half a season to figure out how to run it when the answer was right there the whole time. Mixon has looked bad but I'm still not entirely sure it's not the scheme we're trying to run rather than Mixon himself. Also it's impossible to say any coach will get better let alone a coach who continues to make the same mistakes and especially mistakes that he calls himself out on.
