Yeah, we have $50 million, with 37 guys signed. You need to project 11 more guys into the cap before you even get to Bell, Pratt, Hurst, Apple, & Perine. Plus draft picks. Plus Practice squad. Plus you know we cannot use all the room at the start, there has to be some cushion for signings & guys getting hurt in-season.
I've done the math, and even with VERY low estimates on re-signing other guys, I come up with around $29 mil with Bates, Pratt, Bell, Hurst, Apple, & Perine out there (assuming we don't cut a big ticket guy). And you know we are gonna want AT LEAST $5 mil in cushion. We usually operate at around $8-$10. So think more like $19-$24 mil or so. Though we could restructure some guys or move on from a higher priced player ot two.
Big $$ FA's are extremely unlikely in my view. Retaining our guys and rookies and maybe a discounted vet chasing a ring.
I didn't think the Practice Squad counted toward the cap?
I thought it was just the Top 51 salaries/cap hits counted.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.
