While he got the score wrong he did not lie about the game. It did happen. I remember watching it as they lost the #1 seed in the AFC that week only to regain it in the next week with an OT win against the Redskins (thanks to a Chip Lohmiller missed FG at the end of regulation.)
Exactly how I remember it as well.
