I don't know if the Bengals are being underestimated, but more that people nationally seem to like the Bills more, although I'm not sure why.
They, like the Bengals, have a small market, they have never been dirty, and they've never won a Super Bowl despite appearing in multiple.
The only thing I can think of as to why is that many still dislike Bengals ownership because of misperceptions from the 90's and 2000's.
They think (or want) the Bengals will inevitably go back to being a bad team again like they used to be.

Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.
Sorry for Party Rocking!
