His woman isn't a celebrity, and I think some women resent that or think if a "normal" girl can get him, maybe they can. I think it shows that Joe is grounded. I respect it quite a bit.
The training, nutrition, medicine, fitness, playbooks and rules evolve. The athlete does not.
