Four brain cells here and I have no problem thinking that he wanted it released. It clearly showed that she instigated the physical confrontation which is a different thing completely from "he punched a girl because she rejected him."
Also, releasing the video removed any leverage the victim's attorney may have hoped to gain in negotiating their settlement by threatening to release it just before the NFL draft.
