In this mock, he specifically discusses an idea for a trade involving Jonah Williams.

So essentially, Bengals offload Jonah while getting to move up 9 spots in Rd 1 and 10 spots in Rd 3. No additional picks.

What are your thoughts on this potential idea for draft compensation?

Actually a realistic thought from an espn dude? I am shocked. Yeah, would like this if we are eyeing a guy right there.

Gives us some flexibility if we really like a player that fits our team.

Still would like to add a pick for Jonah, but I would understand this move if we really like a guy and he is still around at 19.

Generally I’d prefer to add an extra day 2 pick over just moving up a few slots. The more players on rookie deals the better chance we’ll have at getting our stars locked up long term.
