Draft Grades for Pick 28 Myles Murphy
#12

Detroit got hammered in their rating for moving up to take Gibbs.

The Bengals assessment of an A had a lot of caveats:

"Analysis: Murphy was not a dominant player at Clemson but showed the ability to win the edge at times and has the strength to hold his part of the bargain on run defense. The Bengals could have used a cornerback, but perhaps they did not have any first-round-caliber players at the position left on their board. Tight end Michael Mayer would have also been a worthy selection."

So what the analysis is saying is that the Bengals should have left talent on the board to select lesser talent. That would be why these people are writing BS analysis and not employed by an NFL team. The league showed the worth of the Michael Mayer "expert" ranking and projection of draft position. There was only one corner on the board that was broadly ranked above Murphy and that was Porter Jr. who is someone the Bengals probably had rated below Murphy on their board because he is not a great scheme fit.
