According to previous reporting by Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Washington fell in the draft due to those concerns with his knee. According to Rapoport, Washington had swelling in his knee at the Combine, which led to some teams taking him off of their draft board entirely.
I should have also commented on this part, but I didn't see it since I use the dark theme and the text wasn't visible unless highlighting over it.
I know there were some concerns with his knee, but 1) I wish we would have known this happened at the Combine well before draft night so we could have also set expectations, and 2) if the Steelers were willing to take him the Bengals should have too. Steelers have always done a pretty good job drafting, and the Bengals' medical staff has not always been considered the best decision-makers, so I tend to trust the Steelers over Bengals when it comes to medical evals.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.
