I've been a Bengals fan a good bit longer than you. And I can honestly say I'm not sure I've ever had this kind of confidence going into a season. In 1980 we were 6-10 so 1981 was a surprise. Perhaps I had a bit of confidence with Boomer in the late 80's? But there again season before SB was like 5 wins or something?
With Palmer and ML I had some his hopes, for a minute. But then nearly every year my expectations went down. With Dalton it became fairly obvious not that far in that a playoff win was about the most one could hope for.
But short answer, yes, I like having way more confidence and higher expectations than ever before.
