1) If we lose to the Broncos then we cannot be #1
1a) If Denver then beat SD then we are the #3 seed regardless of the result against the Ravens (Head to Head tiebreaker favours Denver)
1b) If Denver loses to SD and we beat the Ravens then we are the #2 seed (We would have the better record: 12-4 vs 11-5)
2) If we beat the Broncos then we get a bye
2a) If NE beats Miami then we are the #2 seed regardless of the result against the Ravens (See tiebreakers below)
2b) If NE loses to Miami and we beat the Ravens then we are the #1 seed (We would have the better record: 13-3 vs 12-4)
Tie-breakers against NE:
1. Head to Head: No Result
2. Conference Record: Tied at 10-2
3. Common Opponents:
Pittsburgh: NE Win, Cin Win & Cin Loss
Denver: NE Loss, Cin Win
Houston: NE Win, Cin Loss
Buffalo: NE Win & NE Win, Cin Win
Means NE are 4-1 and we are 3-2 against common opponents. Therefore NE wins the tiebreaker.
Note that there is no scenario where we can be tied with the Patriots on record and end up the #1 seed.
Thank you.
