We had been told by Taylor it was a vague "several weeks," which could be 4, it could be 8, we don't fully know.

It doesn't matter what anyone's opinion is on this matter or any other matter for when someone THINKS something will happen. It will happen if/when it happens.
Several, by definition is not 7 or 8, that would be "many." When Mike asks if the Bengals think he will be ready in 31 days, she says "no, no!" A responsible journalist would sa: The Bengals aren't telling us anything, which begs the question "will he be ready by week one."
