His dead cap hit for this year, if the Bengals release him, has increased. So he bought himself this year with the pay cut. His dead money next season is only $2.75M. The Bengals save cap space by cutting him next year.
After Mixon agreed to the pay cut even you stated he might be released next year because you straddle both sides of every fence.
