He should have signed to the Bengals practice squad. The Bengals have a history of elevating guys from the practice squad and Johnson likely would have got a chance at some point unlike the Lions. For example right now with Hubbard and Hendrickson hurt, Johnson would have had a very good chance to play. As it is, since he is no longer on the team it is more likely they elevate Gunter since he has been with the team this entire time.
