Shame his life was ruined. I'd say he should sue her for the millions he lost with her accusations, but she'll never be able to pay him what would have set him and his future family and kids up for life.
There should be consequences. Our system needs to take these accusations seriously, but slow down on the judgement some. The false accusations really hurt true cases and victims.
He dropped his lawsuit against her in exchange for her dropping her lawsuit.
He did admit to having sex with the 17-year-old. Since he was 21, it could have been considered statutory rape, but it is not statutory rape if he reasonably believed she was 18 or older at the time, and apparently there is one witness who testified that she said at the party she was 18, as well as video from another party where she said she was 18. She did had voluntary sex with other men as well that night, which was on video, but Araiza wasn't in the house at the time she said she was raped by several men. Her point was she was drunk and couldn't consent. I cringed at this part: "one of the videos appeared to show her braces cutting one of the men during oral sex, possibly explaining the blood." one of the men with the video is being charged with child pornography, since she was 17.
