We've been in 3rd or worse in the division after 72 of the 77 games this season.
We're 12th out of the 15 NL teams. There's 11 teams ahead of us for the 6 playoff spots. Only 5 of the 30 teams in MLB aren't "close" to being at least .500, but .500 gets you nothing. You need .556 to win 90 games and a ~.530 to have a decent (non-guaranteed) chance at playoffs even with the expanded wildcard.
After todays loss, the Reds will be 36-41. They would need to play .635 in the remaining games to reach 90 wins. They would need to win 54 of the remaining 85 games. Really, does anyone see that happening, not even the big Red machine could get those numbers.
