Not really sure if you were implying Hudson is bad, but Imma defend him anyway.
Hudson produced 39 receptions for 352 yards on just 240 receiving snaps.
Compare that to Uzomah, who played 484 rec snaps for CIN in 2021 but only 493 yards.
Compare that to Hurst, who played 411 rec snaps for CIN in 2022 but only 414 yards.
It's never going to be apples to apples, but hypothetically, if Hudson had the same number of rec snaps as Hurst did, he could have put up around 600 yards. Around 700 yards if same as Uzomah did.
While no one would call Hudson a good run blocker (although he actually did ok last year in his limited snaps), he was quite satisfactory as a receiver.
If he had put up 600-700 yards, people would be saying he should be the long-term starter.
Not saying he's some upper-tier guy, but he seemed to be at least about the same caliber of receiver as the likes of Uzomah or Hurst, which are mid-tier.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs
Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.
