Any advice or tips so that I can end the season with family bragging rights?

Do some mock drafts. That will help you to get a good vibe on where players are going and in what rounds. Also, reading some fantasy news and catching up on the latest opinions on sleepers doesn't hurt. You can get some good valued players in late rounds if you're prepared. In one of our fantasy threads, you will see some examples of the order of draft position preferences. Of course, during the draft, anything can change on a dime. I think this year I may go WR-WR-RB-QB with the first 4 picks. Simply because I feel the league has become more of a passing league.

Tigerteeth mentioned not drafting a QB in round 1. That's usually the logic, but you might see some draft a QB in the first. Try not to let that get you rattled and try to stick to your plan.

If this is your first time playing, be careful. It's addicting. I found myself some years having too many teams to manage. I love FF.

Good luck and have fun.
