When 95% of your pitches are on the outside part of the plate, you are telling everyone in the league that you already know that you don't have good enough stuff. Greg Maddux wasn't blowing anyone away, but he still owned that entire plate, up, down, in and out. You could see Pirate hitters diving into his pitches because they caught on very quickly . . . "If he does throw an inside pitch, just take it because he's going right back outside again with his next three or four. Pick out one that you like."

And it looks like the Reds saw what I saw as he was DFA'd after that performance. Now . . . let's hope that they see what we all see in David Bell.
